As an advisor for multiple foundation initiatives, Jean finds deep satisfaction in integrating several aspects of her career and life—from ideating programs to mentoring students to working with people of different faiths and backgrounds on social justice issues. At the Foundation, she helps lead the Upper House Fellows Program (UHFP), serves on the Upper House Commons program curation team and in an advisory and ambassadorial role for the Lumen Center. More specifically, she serves on the UHFP executive leadership team, advises on its long-term strategic vision, teaches one Fellows track annually, leads the potential expansion of the program in other parts of Wisconsin and mentors students; serves on the Upper House Commons Curatorial Team (UHCCT), especially as it relates to forging strategic partnerships and expanding UHC programs around Wisconsin;(3) serves on the Lumen Center’s alignment team to provide advice on its strategic vision and integration with other Foundation programs and act as a Lumen Center ambassador externally; and (4) builds and maintains relationships with the Foundation’s multiple constituencies and stakeholders and undertakes ad hoc projects.
