ABOUT JASMINE N.

I am a first-class English Literature with Writing graduate, aspiring to work in children\'s publishing. Undergraduate study nurtured my love of literature and enabled me to become proficient in creative and professional writing. My proudest achievement to date is completing my dissertation, which explored how LGBTQ+ representation in children\'s literature remains a contested subject.Since 2021, I have worked as an Admin Assistant at Cerebral Palsy Plus - a charity which supports individuals with cerebral palsy, their families and carers to live life to the fullest. During my four years of experience working in this role, I have become skilled at writing to a brief and tailoring information to an audience. I have also gained invaluable experience in event planning, newsletter production and communications. Successfully juggling part-time work alongside academic study has taught me to be highly organised and self-motivated.From September 2025, I will be an MA Publishing student at the University of Exeter. The prospect of increasing my knowledge and understanding of the industry through academic research and practical projects is incredibly exciting. After graduation, I hope to embark on a fulfilling career in children\'s publishing, promoting diversity and inclusion to improve representation in children’s literature, and the accessibility of literature itself. Due to my skill set, I believe I will be best suited to a role in the Marketing or Editorial sectors and am open to entry-level positions in these departments.
