ABOUT JAY DUNN
I’ve spent my career capturing the stories of people and communities striving for change, equality, and justice. As a National Geographic award-winning photojournalist and video producer, my work has always been rooted in a deep commitment to highlight the positive, often overlooked aspects of life. Whether I’m documenting the impact of youth programs in Salinas, CA, or sharing the voices of those served by nonprofits, my goal has always been to honor humanity by telling stories that inspire and engage. From creating a multimedia presence at The Salinas Californian to collaborating with foundations like The David and Lucile Packard Foundation on initiatives like the Salinas Youth Initiative, I’ve found purpose in creating content that elevates voices and drives action. Each project has been a way to build bridges, not just through visual storytelling, but through understanding the struggles, triumphs, and potential of the communities I serve. When I moved to Connecticut in 2018, I brought this same passion to my work at NRWIB, where I help shape the narratives of individuals who’ve transformed their lives through workforce development programs. The videos we produce aren’t just content; they’re powerful, human stories that highlight how communities and people are evolving every day. Whether in the field or behind a camera, I continue to strive for work that reflects the richness of life and the importance of giving people a platform to be heard.
