As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, I serve as a Communications VISTA. In this role, I handle a range of communication-related responsibilities, including: Utilized international videos, including those from Zambia, to raise awareness of venture projects from a global perspective on social media platforms. This effort assisted in enhancing the organization\'s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.Participated in Grassroots Advocacy training and subsequently engaged in advocacy during Mentor Hill Day on Capitol Hill 2024. Communicated with multiple members of Congress about the significance of mentorship while utilizing Legislative scorecards, advocacy resource pages, and Talking Points on Mentors Legislative Priorities. Traveled to Dallas, Texas for a three-day in-person training session, connecting with fellow AmeriCorps members from across the nation. Spoke about the importance of uplifting communities and diversity. Develop and implement a communications strategy and timeline, utilizing storytelling for signature gala event.
