As an Advanced Support Team member I am part of the global AST team to assist with the installation and commissioning phase of multiple proton therapy projects. My primary responsibility as an Advanced Support Team member is to provide local and remote support of the installation and commissioning of Varian’s cyclotron as well as participation in similar activities related to the gantry, beam transport system, and related subsystems. As an Advanced Support Team Engineer I also provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex equipment. In particular, with strong Electrical & Software backgrounds with direct proton therapy experience.As an AST Engineer my specialities as an SME [Subject Matter Expert] are:• MCS Motion Control System - for Proton Gantrys and all aspects of motion.• Imaging Systems - kV Systems & CBCT Imaging• Proton CATs with Customer [Customer Acceptance Testing]• Respond to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or repair problems in malfunctioning equipment.• Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems or issues to the appropriate engineering department.• Involved in customer installation and training.• Train and coach new and less experienced Site personnel in practice, technical and reporting/documentation matters.• Assists in the development of new installation and/or commissioning techniques, future products, and methods.• Creates and updates installation and/or commissioning documentation.• Requires no direct supervision.#TogetherWeFightCancer
