This is one of the top partnering deals in the Life Science industry in 2012.• Advised CareFusion on the acquisition of UK Medical Limited, a leading distributor of medical products to the National Health Service (NHS) and private health care sector in the United Kingdom. • Advised Prestige Brands on the $660m (£420m) purchase of 17 healthcare brands from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). I am the current chair of the Global Pharmaceutical & Healthcare transactional Group at Baker & McKenzie, the world\'s largest international law firm. Our team of more than 450 life sciences lawyers across 47 countries provides innovative advice on pipeline and geographic expansions, monitors industry trends and changes, and executes cross-border mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations, among other services we provide companies in the sector. I also head up the private M&A Group in our London office. I started as an associate with Baker & McKenzie over 20 years ago and briefly worked in the San Francisco/Palo Alto office, where I handled M&A transactions in the US. I became a partner in the Firm\'s London office in Prior to leading the global group, I managed the Europe, Middle East & Africa regional Pharmaceutical & Healthcare group.
