As the Young Professional Group (YPG) Representative for the BCS Cheltenham and Gloucestershire branch, I work closely with industry and university professionals to inspire and support the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. My role involves creating opportunities for young professionals to engage with the industry, develop their skills, and progress in their careers. Through events, mentoring, and collaboration, I aim to bridge the gap between education and the cybersecurity sector, helping individuals achieve their career aspirations.In addition to my YPG responsibilities, I am proud to offer one-on-one mentorship through the British Computer Society (BCS). Drawing on my experience from passing the Cyber Scheme Team Member exam, a former Assistant Lecturer, and an advocate for talent development in cybersecurity, I support aspiring professionals in developing technical competencies in areas such as web application security, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment. I also guide mentees in improving their report-writing, communicating complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, and building effective client relationships. My mentorship approach is tailored to individual needs and delivered flexibly via email, phone, video calls, and face-to-face meetings (when local to Leeds), ensuring accessible and impactful career guidance.
