Growing up in Utah, a focus on academics, sports, and music paved the way for my journey through the University of Utah and graduate school at UCLA. After graduation I started my career at Nissan North America as a Data Analyst before moving to the IT department to manage the Help Desk and support emerging systems. I joined a legal software company as an implementation PM and was then recruited by Occidental Petroleum. During my 13-year tenure, I was promoted to the role of IT Operations Manager, where I optimized vendor relationships, streamlined billing processes, and spearheaded cost-saving initiatives. My skill for standardizing processes improved our technology deployments, M&A work, and support functions. I also revamped the SOX compliance review processes and reporting, completing four annual audits without any significant findings from our auditors. Notably, I transformed an adversarial relationship into a collaborative team dedicated to reducing compliance issues. At MUFG Union Bank I took on the role of Project Manager within HR. I played a critical role as a project leader, data-driven decision-maker, trainer, and team builder. As HR\'s liaison to the IT group, I oversaw projects in payroll, training, compliance, and performance management. One of my standout achievements was implementing an employee rewards program for employees, handling everything including defining tax and payroll requirements and project deployment. I undertook the redesign of the executive talent identification and promotion process, combining multiple affiliate processes into one, significantly reducing workload. My contributions also addressed issues government audit issues. I built a process for issue remediation and a reporting system for in-scope employees and high-risk staff, ensuring adherence to procedures and compliance standards.
