ABOUT JAMES CHACKO

I am a senior cybersecurity professional with over 18 years of experience in the utility industry. My expertise lies in OT critical infrastructure, risk management, vulnerability assessment, incident response, and developing and implementing policies and procedures critical to enhancing organizational resiliency. I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Cybersecurity (Cyber-physical Systems) from Georgia Tech, and have a track record of providing unbiased direction and imparting skills to enhance a utility\'s cybersecurity posture and standards.I have worked on various ICS/SCADA, smart grids, and other OT-related projects throughout my career. I have conducted numerous vulnerability assessments, web application tests, and penetration tests for organizations. I have also supported the creation of security architecture and policy & procedures documentation based on well-respected industry standards such as the NIST Cyber Security Framework, NERC CIP standards, and the Ontario Cyber Security Framework. I have provided ongoing support for revising and implementing these policies and procedures.I am a seasoned subject matter expert (SME) in cybersecurity with a proven track record in operations and technical support, systems and network administration, business technical analysis, and project management. My methodology is centred on delivering the best approach for the client, without the influence of a vendor, and ensuring successful project outcomes. I have experience in SOC analysis, incident management, disaster recovery planning, systems and process audit, risk management, governance and compliance, and payment card industry data security standards.My accreditations include the Risk Manager, CISSP, ITIL v3 Foundation, Computer Hacking and Forensics Investigator, Certified Ethical Hacker, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, CISA, and Control Objectives for IT and related Technology.I am passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and tools and committed to enhancing my knowledge and skillset to address the ever-evolving challenges in cybersecurity in utilities and OT environments.
