ABOUT GILBERTO MARCON DOS SANTOS

As a Principal Robotics Engineer at Zebra Technologies, I designed and implemented a cloud tasking system to coordinate AMR fleets and human operators for warehouse order fulfillment, doubling our customers throughput consistently and at scale.Visited multiple customer sites, worked with product and user experience managers, application engineers, quality engineers, and across our multidisciplinary engineering teams, including core robotics, cloud, hardware, and mobile app to develop new features across our multi-layer stack.Led design and implementation of a cloud tasking platform for coordinating human operators and AMR fleets- Workflow definition and distributed execution system with cross-agent dependencies and fault recovery- Deterministic, observable, and explainable workflows with persistent execution history and agent timelines- Continuous task ingestion, periodic multi-level re-planning and specialized-agent capability-based allocation.I did my PhD at the Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CoRIS) Institute, Oregon State University (OSU). My research with Dr. Julie A. Adams applied coordination algorithms to improve domain-independent planning and solve multi-robot problems. I developed more scalable algorithms for multi-robot problems in logistics and rescue domains and implemented ROS packages to coordinate the concurrent asynchronous execution of high-level multi-robot plans.gilbertomarcon.com
