As Creative Director of Making Room, my role is to define and drive the vision of our micro-factory and studio space, ensuring it operates as more than just a production facility—it’s a movement. Making Room exists to bridge the gap between designers and manufacturers, offering a transparent, sustainable, and democratised approach to garment production in Manchester.My focus is on building systems that enable small brands to scale, integrating digital innovation like CLO3D and projection-based cutting to streamline processes, reduce waste, and make local manufacturing viable again. Through careful curation, collaboration, and hands-on development, I ensure that Making Room is both an ecosystem for emerging designers and a platform that reintroduces craftsmanship into modern production.Since launching, Making Room has already secured funding, developed partnerships, and begun creating a space that redefines accessibility in fashion manufacturing. Our success isn’t measured by scale alone but by the opportunities we create—whether that’s supporting independent brands, upskilling local makers, or reshaping the culture around how clothes are made.
