ABOUT JAMEELA CONWAY-TURNER

Jameela Conway-Turner is a Senior Researcher at the American Institutes for Research. Dr. Conway-Turner is an education research and policy expert with over 10 years of experience managing and conducting research projects, using evidence to inform programs, practices, and policies, and translating complex research findings into actionable solutions. Dr. Conway-Turner has expertise in K-12 education, youth development, early childhood education, child welfare, and juvenile justice. She works to bridge the research to policy and practice gap by working with stakeholders to make evidence based decisions and examining the impact of programs, policies and practices. Dr. Conway-Turner emphasizes the importance of data visualization and creates products (e.g, briefs, infographics, blogs, videos) for a variety of audiences to disseminate research findings. Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Conway-Turner was a policy fellow for the Society for Research in Child Development at the National Institute of Justice working on the Comprehensive School Safety Initiative. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from George Mason University.
