In 2022 I joined Sunshine Health as a Senior Marketing & Communication Specialist. I create, edit and distribute communications to our network of healthcare professionals to help them provide the best care possible to our members. My first career started at the Tampa Bay Times, where I spent 30 years as a reporter and editor working for my hometown, and Florida’s best, newspaper. I was raised in the Tampa Bay area and graduated from the University of South Florida. I’ve covered the criminal justice system, local government, public health, sports and business and economic development. Along the way I covered NASA, the NFL, the NBA, college football, executions, hurricanes, space shuttle launches and wildfires. In 2015 I was promoted to assistant metro editor. I\'ve spent years editing on deadline, troubleshooting and helping bring the Times in for a landing. I developed and implemented election night coverage plans for more than 50 races from 2016 to 2020. I conceived, assigned and edited all content for the 2016 to 2021 hurricane guides. As the health and environment editor, I oversaw coverage of the pandemic, climate change and a series of environmental crises. I\'m also the answer to this trivia question: who filed the last byline in the 144-year history of the St. Petersburg Times? I did, just hours before Florida\'s best newspaper changed its name to the Tampa Bay Times on Jan.
