My role currently applies core project management skills to complex work streams as part of a major organisational strategic programme for one of IBM’s major clients. Overall, my responsibilities are- Acting in a consultant capacity, apply best practice project management methodologies in a hybrid waterfall and agile fashion for complex DevOps related projects- To monitor on behalf of the programme or define, plan and lead a multitude of projects simultaneously- Proactively identify project risks, issues and assumptions and design relevant contingency and mitigation plans to reduce exposure, reduce impact and to validate assumptions- Actively identify and flag dependencies between projects across workstreams and communicate to the relevant stakeholders- Ensure issues are resolved or escalated where necessary- Monitor, forecast and control project budget on a bespoke frequency basis- Identify critical changes to project scope and identify plus consult relevant stakeholders where necessary reporting to the Programme Manager and work stream lead- Ensuring activities can proceed after key stakeholders have been consulted and budget has been approved- Provide project management support across different work streams, adapting where necessary to suit the needs of the programme- Gear teams and act as a team driver towards the client’s strategic goal- Actively identify lessons learned consistently to shape project management strategy on an iterative basis- Manage suppliers to ensure successful delivery of normal or critical project tasks- Actively engage with SMEs, stakeholders and other project leaders to successfully manage expectations across the programme.
