Conduct comprehensive thermal analyses of piping systems to evaluate thermal expansion, contraction, and related stresses- Utilize advanced finite element analysis (FEA) software such as AutoPIPE to simulate thermal conditions, seismic stresses, and predict potential issues- Perform spring selection for vibration isolation on ducts and piping systems to mitigate noise and structural vibrations- Ensure optimal spring rates to maintain system stability and prevent resonance under dynamic loads- Create, review, and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P & IDs) for equipment and piping systems to ensure design accuracy and functionality- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, engineers, and project managers, to optimize piping layouts, support structures, and isolators- Provide technical expertise and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g, ASME B31.1, B31.3) during the design phase- Perform stress calculations and develop mitigation strategies to address thermal-induced stresses and ensure system reliability under varying conditions- Create 2D/3D CAD detailing of supports for MEP systems using AutoCAD drawings and models- Assess existing piping systems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend design modifications- Participate actively in project meetings to communicate progress and discuss technical challenges with stakeholders- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in pipe stress analysis, vibration isolation, and P & ID development to enhance skills and expertise.
