California Wildfires // DR-4856-CA (VAL Specialist, Jan. 2025 - Mar. 2025)- Donations Management SME; tracked donations received, matched donations to satisfy unmet needs- Coordinated with voluntary agency partners to conduct multi-agency warehousing site visits; supported the opening of a multi-agency donation warehouse- Coordinated with State VAL to author a VAL-specific objective within the Incident Action Plan- Independently represented VAL team at Tactics and Operational Planning meetings- Coordinated with Information Management to complete the Operational Planning Worksheet (ICS-215) in WebEOC for various Operational Period lengths ranging 24-72 hours- Worked with Crew Lead to develop outreach strategy for door-to-door canvassing; independently created daily outreach route maps for our team in Eaton-fire burn scar.

Hello, my name is Jackie! I am a Voluntary Agency Liaison (VAL) with FEMA Region 3. As a VAL, I work closely with local emergency managers, nonprofits, public, private, and faith-based organizations to support the development of Long Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs). I also connect individuals who have unmet needs with local, state, regional, and federal resources that might meet their needs. In my role, I can share information about FEMA’s Individual Assistance programs, support Disaster Recovery Centers, assist with Preliminary Damage Assessments, and complete other field duties as needed.
