Leadership hiring.Checkout.com is a hugely exciting proposition; driving hundreds of billions of dollars worth of payments across some of the biggest and most well-loved merchants in the world. If you\'ve taken a payment online, there\'s a really high chance it was through Checkout.com and you didn\'t even know.As a large, global business, we have a lot of business and product complexity. Across Tech, we encourage people to communicate, work as a team, and to always think about the customer and business impact of what they\'re building.We primarily use C#.NET across most Sofware Engineering roles. Some roles are working with Java and data-streaming tools e.g. Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, and some teams are using Golang too. If you\'re confident with either C#, Java or Golang, then we\'re quite happy to bring you onboard, but you might have to cross-train with a different technology once you\'ve started. Ideally you\'ll have worked in a cloud-native environment with either AWS, Azure of GCP. Engineers at Checkout own the end-to-end delivery; from taking requirements, designing systems, writing code, testing, building infrastructure and owning the monitoring.Considering the scale of what we\'re building, it\'s a great opportunity for engineers to make real impact on complex problems that affect real people day-to-day. I\'ve worked in tech recruitment since Sept 2016, working with the agency RedCat Digital for a number of years, before heading internal and joining GoCardless at the beginning of 2021. In my time at GoCardless, we doubled the size of the business from 400 to 850+, and I worked primarily on Senior Leadership roles within Engineering.When I started, RedCat did strictly \'front-end\' engineering only, but as the market developed and progressed, I built out networks into the full-stack JavaScript ecosystem and polyglot full-stack engineering, as well as also becoming confident in placing pure back-end engineers - primarily across Java, Scala, Python or Ruby. I\'ve hired at managerial levels too, across Eng. Managers, VPs and the odd CTO here and there. On top of that, I helped shift RedCat\'s understanding of where to find great talent - moving from the obvious \'major players\' in an industry, to uncovering hidden gems.In my time, I\'ve worked with some of the biggest brands out there, such as ASOS, NatWest, Conde Nast, uSwitch, Zoopla, HSBC as well as some of LinkedIn\'s Top 25 Start-ups in TransferWise, Babylon Health, Funding Circle, iwoca, and WIRED\'s Top 100 Start-up\'s Appear Here, Seenit, Typeform, Jukedeck, Glovo and Letgo.
