Governance • Advising the Board of Directors on legal, constitutional and procedural matters, ensuring that Directors receive appropriate support to full their statutory duties.• Ensuring that the board is fully compliant with the appropriate legislation and statutory requirements• Working alongside the chair and Exec team, to plan and delivers a programme of business for the board. • Leading on all organisational and administrative support to the governing board and committees, and provide any necessary follow up actions, including preparing minutes for publication• Building effective professional relationships with Members, Directors, LSCs, Executive team, Headteachers and others to maximise the effectiveness of the board.HR• Review the Trust’s staffing structure to ensure fit for purpose models are achieved. • Act as point of contact to source and coordinate the provision of advice on HR related matters• Monitor staffing structures.• Conduct formal personnel meetings as required. • Liaise as and when appropriate with HR One, solicitors, and other statutory and professional bodies • To be responsible for maintenance of up-to-date accurate personnel records in accordance with statutory and audit requirements.• Lead recruitment for the Trust and sit on the recruitment panel for all vacancies.• Signatory for Contractual paperwork on behalf of the Trust and schools. • Monitor staff absence and trigger appropriate action, including statutory sick pay and provide reports as necessary.• Ensure that all teachers receive written notification of their pay/salary on appointment and following the annual salary review process.
