ABOUT IVAN ZAITSEV

I am a Business Development, Legal, Regulatory, and Policy senior executive with a passion for Technology and Sustainability, and vast experience in Government Relations, Policy and International Business Strategy. With 25 years PQE as a Legal Counsel, both in-house and at international law firms, I have delivered practical results in heavily regulated industries (Satellite and Terrestrial Telecoms, Information Technology, Power Industry, Mining, Banking and Finance). I am an enthusiastic People Manager and worked at the middle level and C-suit of operating companies, as well as regional and global head-quarters, selecting and developing direct and functional reports, building teams, and creating ad hoc taskforces. I served in the Boards of Directors of operating and holding companies. Geographically, I enjoyed living, studying, and working in the U.S, E.U, LATAM, CEE, and CIS.• In-house Counsel experience includes international start-ups, Fortune 500 U.S-listed multinationals, and international organizations in the industries such as Satellite and Terrestrial Telecommunications, Banking, Power Sector, and Mining. Legal & Regulatory exposure includes both Transactional and Dispute Resolution work, as well as the support of Product Development, Sales & Marketing (B2B, B2C), Project and Trade Financing, Global Procurement, Corporate/M&A, Industry-Specific Regulation, Competition Law, National Security, Data Protection, Compliance and Risk Management.• Outside Counsel experience with international law firms (Dentons and McGuire Woods) spans from such areas as Project Financing, Corporate/M&A, Commercial Transactions to Competition Law, International Taxation, Dispute Resolution (National Courts and International Arbitration Fora), Industry Regulations (Oil & Gas, Electric, Subsoil Use, Wholesale and Retail Banking, Telecommunications/I.T.).• Regulatory, Policy, Government Relations, and International Affairs experience includes Electric Power (Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Wholesale & Retail) as well as in Information Technology and Telecommunications E.U. and non-EU regulation (Eurasia, CEE), both Networks and Spectrum Management, Data Privacy/Personal Data Protection, Communications Privacy and Lawful Data Surveillance. Participated in Working Groups at ITU, RCC, GSMA, ESOA, drafted Recommendations, Laws, Regulations, and International Treaties.
