ABOUT ISHITAA DUA SHEHER

I am a passionate communicator and community builder, dedicated to helping individuals find belonging, purpose, and meaningful careers. As an international student who moved to Canada, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating new systems, and the transformative power of support, mentorship, and experiential learning. This journey fuels my commitment to supporting students, newcomers, and equity-deserving groups with empathy, inclusion, and access to opportunity. In my current role as Employer Specialist at Western Engineering, I build and nurture employer relationships, coordinate industry events and site visits, and support co-op programs - ensuring students gain meaningful experiential learning while employers access top talent. Previously, as an Employment Advisor at WILL Employment Solutions, I facilitated career development programs, delivered personalized job search support, and led networking and intercultural competency initiatives.Beyond my professional roles, I volunteer extensively in event coordination and stakeholder engagement, including at Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Southwestern Ontario Branch (CME-SWOB) and Women in Communications and Technology – London Chapter, contributing to awards programs, scholarships, and marketing strategy.Whether guiding students through their first job search, building employer partnerships, or creating content that informs and empowers, I bring heart, purpose, and strategic insight to everything I do and I am always open to conversations and collaborations that make a positive impact.
