ABOUT INGOLFUR HELGASON
Ingolfur \"Ingo\" Helgason is the Plant Manager for Alcoa Massena, moving to Canton NY with his family in August 2024. With a degree in engineering from Reykavik University, Ingo joined Alcoa in 2010, beginning his career as a Process Engineer in his home country of Iceland. He then moved to Ma\'aden, Alcoa\'s former location in Saudi Arabia to be a Lead Process Engineer and later a Reduction Superintendent. He moved back to Iceland to his previous Alcoa plant as a Lead Process Engineer and then later as Smelting Manager before relocating to the US to be the Plant Manager at Alcoa Carbon plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In short, aluminum production has been Ingo\'s specialty for almost 20 years. When asked about why he relocated to the North Country, Ingo says he sees a lot of opportunities in the area, inspired by the rich history of the Alcoa Massena location and the hard-working people of the area. When he\'s not leading his team and increasing productivity at Alcoa Massena, he loves travel, boating, and spending time with his wife and three young children exploring the world.
