ABOUT ILAY TEZCAN

Here’s a little bit about me, and the kind of designer I’m becoming.I’m an Industrial Designer with a focus on crafting thoughtful, intuitive experiences across digital and physical touchpoints. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Middle East Technical University (METU) and a master’s degree from Politecnico di Milano. With over 1.5 years of UX/UI experience at Siemens and 2 years of Visual Design experience at The Armin Bar (Miami | Milan), my approach is shaped by both technical understanding and a genuine curiosity about how people interact with design in everyday life.At Siemens, I worked on turning complex industrial systems into user-friendly digital tools. It taught me how to balance logic with empathy, and how to design with clarity even in highly structured, technical environments. At The Armin Bar, I continue to refine digital experiences, translating brand stories into cohesive visual systems and ensuring that every interaction feels intentional, engaging, and human-centered.My background in industrial design gives me a systems-thinking mindset. Whether designing a screen, a service, or a physical product, I consider the full context: behavior, emotion, constraints, and real-world consequences. During my Erasmus semester, I focused on sustainable service design, which deepened my belief that design, at its best, simplifies without oversimplifying and improves without overwhelming.Outside of professional settings, I’ve continued learning, and still continue learning, through courses in UI/UX, prototyping, typography, and visual communication. Working across cultures, disciplines, and scales has shaped not just how I design, but how I think, work, and grow.
