As first a scientific advisor, R Programmer and Bioinformatic lead for the bioinformatics platform (MicroDx) at 4D Pharma Cork, I expertly managed an array of genomic and data analysis tasks across 4D sites whilst ensuring diverse projects saw successful completions from their inception. My role necessitated the founding and steering of the 4D Pharma Cork bioinformatics platform. This encompassed recruiting and mentoring top-notch bioinformatic, genomic and biostatistics staff, deftly managing the intricacies of our MSD/MDX/MRX data analysis requirements, ensuring punctual project completions and reporting, and astutely capturing intellectual property. With our partners within 4D Pharma in Aberdeen, I led several endeavours, often requiring novel bioinformatic, genomic and biostatistics approaches to discover innovative microbiome LBP candidates and unlock mechanistic insights into our 4D LBPs. By merging these analytical methodologies, we pinpointed markers distinguishing health, disease, and LBP response. Every step taken was under my strategic oversight, solidifying my reputation in project management. These opportunities required a frameshift from the hard skills of analytics and put soft skills at the heart of my approach. Ensuring clarity, I communicated complex bioinformatic strategies to diverse teams. As a leader and mentor, I championed a collaborative, innovative ethos. My expertise in problem identification and solving, consistently delivered solutions, particularly in health and disease marker identification. My journey from bioinformatics, through biostatistics, to leadership showcased my adaptability. Given the numerous and varied responsibilities, strategic time management, conflict resolution, as well as balancing academic and business aims was imperative. I\'ve had the honour of contributing my expertise to stage I and II trials, especially for conditions like IBS. With hands-on involvement in intellectual property capture, I safeguarded our innovative methodologies. Overseeing large patient datasets, I\'ve been meticulous about data protection and confidentiality. My work spans patient population stratification, patent methodologies, and ensuring seamless alignment with industry standards. To summarise, my career is a blend of rigorous technical proficiency, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to ethical research and industry excellence.
