Chartered Accountant, qualified with Coopers and Lybrand (now PWC), Liverpool office. Moved out of profession joining Pilkington Glass as Management Accountant (1985 to 1987).Spent 4 years with ICI Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca) as International Business Accountant from 1987 to 1991. Strategic Business Accounting responsibility for all European subsidiaries.Made first move into House building with Redrow Homes in 1991, joining Redrow Homes as Financial controller for the Lancashire Division, promoted to FD in 1993.First move into General Management in 1995. Became MD of Harwood Homes ( first time buyer subsidiary of the Redrow Group). Took the business from start up to 500 homes pa in 4 years.Encouraged and played a full part in the National expansion of Harwood homes.Became MD of Redrow Homes NW in through to 2008, following amalgamation of two divisional subsidiaries.Mature Divisional Subsidiary 500-700 units pa. Largest contributing division in the Redrow group, in excess of £100m turnover.MD of Stewart Milne NW England 2010. Start up in NW England. Ambitious growth targets.The first English subsidiary of the Stewart Milne Group (comprising two established Scottish Housing divisions, a Timber Systems division and a Commercial Property division). Headquarters is in Aberdeen.Established this Regional business, and grew it to 250-300 homes per annum.Became MD of McCarthy and Stone NW England in 2015. Major Division of the UK\'s leading Retirement lifestyle home provider (70% UK market share).Promoted to Divisional Managing Director in January 2018, responsible for the Northern Division, comprising the North West, North East and Scottish Regional businesses. A Member of the Group Operations Board of Directors and Executive Board. Retired 1/11/2023
