DMS, I.Eng, MIET.Career Synopsis.49 years experience in Engineering.Over 39 of those years as continual employment with GE Aviation (Formerly Smiths Aerospace), with experience in most aspects of the Manufacturing side of the business, liaising between Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering disciplines. Education including: Indentured Apprentice, HNC Mechanical and TEC Electronics, Diploma in Management Studies etc.Part of a team who were tasked with the introduction of Flow Chart Procedures within the Company in and since then has been responsible for authoring (and creating) many of the procedures that control manufacturing. Responsible for representing Manufacturing during Customer / Aerospace audits. This has led to having gained a substantial working understanding of standards and controls such as ISO9001, AS9100, AS9110, EASA Pt 21 and Pt 145 (for various regulatory authorities - UK, USA, China etc.), ISO14001 and CHAS etc. Previous roles have included that of ‘Systems and Approvals Manger for the Cheltenham Smiths / GE Aerospace Business.Has a full understanding of Quality data management systems, and especially keen to use such systems to ensure that result / test data is retained and quickly available without the need to manage reams of paperwork.Successfully transitioned / integrated several smaller sites onto the Cheltenham campus to ensure economies of scale within the larger business framework.Led a site team to establish rebranding when Smiths Aerospace was Acquired by GE Aviation Systems Ltd.Manufacturing Cell Management experience for unit assembly and PCB assembly lines.Responsible for a total Man Eng resource of 60 across numerous disciplines of Manufacturing including Machining and processes, Wiring / Harness build, PCB manufacture and Assembly, Mechanical instrument manufacture as well as support and maintenance of these products in an Aftersales market.Summer 16 took Early retirement opportunity aged 56, but later approached by a local Engineering business, Belcan Test Systems UK Ltd, formerly Omega Engineering Services, and worked as a permanent Employee, crossing many disciplines and product types serving a wide range of Customers (Aerospace, Nuclear, Commercial, Transport and Military).December 20, back to Man Eng roots, supporting a local business to set up a new production facility in Gloucestershire on a brownfield site.June 23, Belcan (BAS) to implement and successfully obtain Environmental approvals (ISO14001) across all 7 UK sites. December 2025, back to roots at GE Aviation as Production Quality Manager.
