ABOUT HUGH CARR
I have worked in and around Scottish housing and care since 1995, as an executive director and consultant. I am a member of ICAEW and CIPFA, and was the first Finance Manager in one of Scotland’s first LSVT Registered Providers. After nine years with HACAS Chapman Hendy, I spent 12 years as Director of Finance at Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership, Scotland’s second largest Registered Provider, where I led on the funding of one of Scotland’s largest social housing development programmes. After leaving DGHP, I returned to consultancy with DTP supporting clients across the UK with business planning, treasury, funding and governance projectsI am experienced in short and long term financial and business planning, governance advice, ICT strategies and housing stock transfer, and managing large debt portfolios. I am an accomplished Brixx user, and bring the perspective of an experienced non-executive, having served on four Registered Providers’ Boards, including chairing a housing and care provider for five years, and the Board of Dumfries and Galloway College, including two years as Chair.I have now progressed to a portfolio of non-exec roles with Berwickshire HA, Sight Scotland, Shire HA and the Maid of the Loch project.
