ABOUT HILARY PARKER

I often tell people “If it involves words and pictures, it’s probably related to my job.” But my work is about so much more than that. As a communications professional who started out as a print journalist and quickly moved into roles editing regional magazines, I recognize the value of telling stories that engage people on multiple levels. I have applied that thinking to inbound marketing communications and social media; helping small businesses owners with web content and media relations; and even teaching editorial and publication design at the college level. With every role, at the core of my work is to create accurate, clear and engaging content that helps the audience understand the \"why\" or spurs them to take action. In my current role as Communications Manager at the Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County, I employ all these skills to share examples of economic development at work in our community as well as promote the organization’s programs and events.
