ABOUT HELEN CAREFOOT

Hi, I\'m Helen Carefoot, a journalist based in Washington DC currently working at Well+Good as the publication\'s Lifestyle Writer. I previously worked at The Washington Post. My work has appeared in Washingtonian, USA Today, The Desert Sun, Chalkbeat, Sunset, Indiewire, Palo Alto Weekly, and others. I\'m an agile writer and skilled social media and newsletter strategist eager to help organizations develop meaningful relationships with their audiences. I worked at Washingtonian, where I helped manage the magazine\'s social media channels and website, in addition to writing across all verticals for print and web. I spearheaded the magazine\'s coverage of entertainment/movies and in the process created opportunities to interview Ina Garten, Felicity Jones, a whole bunch of ambassadors, and many more interesting people. I have a deep knowledge (and love of) movies and pop culture. I studied journalism and international relations at the University of Southern California. Even though I live on the East Coast now, I\'m a Californian at heart. I\'m happiest at the beach, or in the Bay Area trying great new food or hiking.
