ABOUT HELEN ONG

My career in independent school administration evolved from one based in Human Resources, including over twenty years as an executive recruiter in financial services searching for credit and research analysts for JP Morgan, S&P and Goldman Sachs on three continents: Asia, Europe and North America. I cultivated a global network of contacts, clients and friends, and I learned early on as an HR person that confidentiality, credibility, and an individualized approach to each situation is vitally important. In 2003 I returned home with my family from London to the New York area and commenced a different phase of my personal and professional life, becoming significantly involved with my children\'s schools and community. I served on the Greens Farms Academy Parents Association Board, the Hotchkiss School Parents Association Board, and still serve on the St. Luke\'s Darien Altar Guild. I have spent this past decade cultivating relationships, serving these schools and organizations and using my passion for education, networking, writing, and horticulture. In 2015 I had an opportunity to join Greenwich Education Group as Human Resources Director and combine my professional search and selection experience with my personal lifelong interest in education. My experience serving on boards, recruiting extraordinary people to volunteer, including parents, educators, and leaders in my community has proven to be as important as my professional headhunting days in Hong Kong, London and New York. Having now joined the Allen-Stevenson School in Manhattan as Executive Assistant to the Headmaster, I am delighted to be part of a century-plus legacy of inspiring in students an appreciation of responsible citizenship and lifelong learning.
