ABOUT HEENA MAHMOOD
Heena Mahmood is an award winning Digital Health Consultant, author of Minority Ethnic Voices in Healthcare Professions and AHP. With a strong clinical foundation as a Physiotherapist, her career spans clinical practice, digital transformation, and major project delivery across the NHS.She is currently enabling a regional LIMS implementation for Pathology services across three organisations, supporting improvements in processes, data quality, and integrated workflows.Previously, Heena served as the Digital Lead for AHPs at Northampton General Hospital, delivering EPR transformation for AHP services. Prior to that, she was the Digital Lead for Adult Community Services, overseeing digital infrastructure, project delivery, and the development and adoption of digital strategy across the division.Her time as a Clinical Change Manager strengthened her project management and change leadership skills where she implemented Stroke AI solutions, led the Digital Cardiology programme, and deployed vital digital infrastructure during the COVID19 pandemic.Heena’s early career as a Physiotherapist—working across inpatients, Burns and plastics, Hand Therapy and neuro rehabilitation settings shaped her core strengths: strong communication, problem-solving, clinical reasoning, and the ability to deliver effective, patient-centred outcomes. She remains committed to inclusive practice in healthcare, digital innovation and ensuring minority ethnic professionals are represented, supported and heard not only in healthcare but in all sectors.
