WORK HISTORY
Alternate Route Teacher Program Director @Rutgers Graduate School Of Education
Ms. Ngoma plays a key role in bringing new educators to New Jersey’s schools as Director of the Rutgers University Alternate Route Teacher Training Program, a program she launched in 2002 at the University to support state efforts in expanding teacher certification pathways. In her work, Ms. Ngoma collaborates with the New Jersey Department of Education in coordinating and supervising the operation of seven university-sponsored regional training centers for Alternate Route Training in Camden, Morris, Mercer, Somerset, Essex, Passaic and Bergen Counties. An important development in the program was the collaboration with the American Institutes for Research to implement a Doing What Works grant focused on examining the effects of integrating into the program curriculum research from the Institute for Education Sciences. Ms. Ngoma serves as a member of the State Program Approval Council (SPAC) coordinated by the NJDOE Office of Teacher Recruitment and Preparation. She is also the NJ Representative for the National Association for Alternative Certification and maintains the Inspiring Teacher Leadership Blog.
