My work is grounded in the desire to improve patient outcomes through the use of effective genomics in healthcare. This work is guided by 20 years of clinical experience as a genetic counselor and 10 years of experience in healthcare policy, operations, and regulation as well as technical evaluation of diagnostics and therapeutics on outcomes. Experience includes Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare perspectives and challenges. Volunteer opportunities on the AMA PLA-TAG committee to review requested changes to PLA codes and on the ACMG Therapeutics Committee further enhance my visibility and guidance. Curiosity and professionalism allow me to address challenges regarding genomics in healthcare leading to improved outcomes while also minimizing the harms associated with use of these advancing technologies and therapies.
