ABOUT HAZEL ANTIPORTA
I’m interested in how language shapes perception and behaviour. With training in critical media studies and cognitive science, and experience in advertising, I examine how narratives guide attention and interpretation, through communicating identity and status and defining in-groups and out-groups. While working on projects addressing disinformation targeting migrants in Latin America, I saw how communication environments can systematically create and exploit vulnerability. That experience grounds my current focus as a security and communications specialist working at the intersection of counterterrorism, anti-human trafficking, and cybercrime.
