ABOUT HANNAH SPUNGIN
I am a Director-level leader in energy and net zero delivery, with over 15 years’ experience turning climate ambition into investable, deliverable public-private programmes.I am currently Deputy Director for Bristol City Leap, a first-of-its-kind £1 billion city-scale decarbonisation joint venture between Bristol City Council and Ameresco. I lead portfolio delivery, revenue forecasting and commercial risk, oversee a live project portfolio of ~£50 million, and support executive and board-level decision-making across a complex partnership environment. My strength lies in combining strategic vision with strong delivery. I am comfortable shaping commercial models, intervening to stabilise underperforming projects, and making hard decisions where value or risk is misaligned. Alongside this, I have led and developed large multidisciplinary teams, particularly through periods of organisational change and uncertainty. With a background in mechanical engineering and senior roles across renewables, infrastructure and local authority energy services, I bring a pragmatic, systems-level approach to net zero. I am particularly interested in place-based decarbonisation, public–private partnership models, and building delivery organisations that can scale.
