I am a Senior Structural, Building, and FEA Engineer (CPEng, NER, RPEQ, RPEV, BEP, ACT, MIEAust) with over 15 years of experience in advanced structural design and finite element analysis (FEA) across both academia and industry. Holding a PhD in Computational Mechanics, I integrate rigorous theoretical knowledge with practical engineering delivery, consistently ensuring safe, compliant, and technically robust outcomes on complex projects.In my current role at PSD Energy, I operate as a technical lead for structural engineering, providing design governance, oversight, and specialist input for major infrastructure projects, including substations and multiple classes of transportable buildings. My role extends beyond design execution to include technical leadership, mentoring, and multidisciplinary coordination.Key responsibilities include:Leading structural design from concept to IFC, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, the NCC, and client specificationsActing as a technical authority on complex steel, concrete, foundation, and composite systemsReviewing, checking, and approving structural calculations, models, and drawingsCoordinating with external reviewers, certifiers, geotechnical consultants, and construction teamsManaging design risk, constructability, safety-in-design, and value-engineering outcomesProviding specialist guidance on advanced analysis using SpaceGass, Tekla Tedds, IDEA StatiCa, Inducta, Abaqus, and custom-developed engineering toolsSupporting project delivery through engineering judgement, problem-solving, and responses to site and construction queriesMy past experience includes working with major organizations and universities, contributing to both academic and industry outcomes. I have authored a book on Finite Element Analysis (2013), published several research papers, presented at national and international conferences, and supervised MSc research students.
