For the last 17 years i have been innovating at NFM, focusing on the seemingly insoluble challenges. I identify opportunities and gaps and develop projects with other organisations (commercial and governmental) to finance, stake-hold and deliver. I personally led principally the pathfinder programs as i revel in the difficult and unknown.In 2013 I handed over the operational role and have lead the \"Technology Vision, focusing on the long term fundamental capabilities which are required to be the best in design and production of body armour. Activities20••••25: Enhanced injury driven body armour performance assessment. Revolutionizing performance measurement both in terms of accuracy and fidelity. Cutting development time and costs by more than half. 20••••18: Filament winding/ Tape placement, provides a 17% increase in ceramic performance (see publication)20••••14: High pressure isostatic processing, provides a substantial increase in performance of UHMWPE, this now forms the core of NFM\'s advanced hard armour product technology.2011: CNC Sewing cells, 3 cells run by 4 people can give the same productivity as 80 people on manual sewing machines.
