In my current role at NRB, my responsibilities include:Providing advice and support at all stages during the review, negotiation, and management of contracts from initiation to closure, including in-respect of variations, claims, extension of time etc.Collaborating with project team (e.g, Commercial Director, Operational/Technical Staff, Planning Teams) on contractual and claims matters and mentoring and guiding junior team members on contract management and claims best practices. Providing subject-matter expertise in CCDC, FIDIC and/or other standard forms of contracts to ensure compliance and project success, while actively contributing to and providing best-practice contract management leadership to the Sales and Projects executions team. Furthermore, I support the set-up, administration, and close-out of major projects to ensure best-business project outcomes, effectively and proactively managing contract claims and, where appropriate, both initiating and defending claims under contracts, and ensuring the legal team is effectively briefed, and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize contractual disputes. I also work collaboratively with the IT team to develop effective contract management systems, procedures and tools to support the business.Additionally, I drive policy on a variety of matters such as contract administration, scopes of work, Security of Payment legislation, and providing training to relevant personnel on same.
