ABOUT GUS COSTA
Social entrepreneur and IT executive who has led mission critical tech development for large, medium and small organizations including Startups. As head of business and tech development, I have been fortunate to have managed distributed tech teams around the globe with a particular focus on EdTech. From building SaaS solutions from ground-up before Cloud existed (1998) to adopting the AWS early to refactor systems on Public Cloud (2010) to creating business dev solutions outside the world of tech, I have learned a lot. I have also failed more than I have achieved success which has helped advance my professional career. Key project highlights include development of ApplyYourself (AY), The Common Application system (twice), performing technical diligence on several EdTechs prior to M&A events (Hobsons), leading and mentoring technology teams (AY-CA-Hobsons), and Startup work (Vidergize). SaaS, PaaS and IaaS based application development using innovative solutions with great security, reliability and performance is in my core and I owed it to my early days at Freddie Mac where I learned the resilience of systems built to work with Wall Street. I am a builder who loves to help organizations grow by advising them in my areas of expertise. It has been a great ride so far.
