As the EHS Management Systems Leader for Ciena, I am responsible for maintaining and auditing Ciena\'s Global EHS Programs in accordance with the ISO 45001 and 14001 standards as well as applicable local legal requirements. My tasks include:• Leading annual internal and external EHS management systems audits for the Americas (Canada, US & CALA) as well as support for EMEA, India & APJ; • Creating and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, pages and documentation; • Leading local and regional EHS Committees; • Coordinating First Aid and Fire Warden coverage, where applicable;• Performing risk assessments and investigating accidents/injuries;• Performing periodic workplace inspections; • Responding to EHS items associated with customer RFPs and RFIs;• Regularly reviewing relevant EHS legislation within assigned regions globally;• Providing advice & counsel to employees, Managers, and Senior Leadership across the various regions in which Ciena operates; and• Liaising with various external stakeholders (e.g. local legal authorities, contractors/vendors, professional organizations etc.) and internal stakeholders within Ciena (e.g. HR, Legal, Corporate Communications, Facilities, Security, etc.) to address EHS requirements and objectives as they arise.
