Principal consultant in surface mining geomechanics and wall control blasting. I have 20+ years global operational and consulting experience. Prior to joining BGC Engineering, I lead the Geotechnical and Hydrogeology Teams at Rio Tinto’s Bingham Canyon mine where we safely managed numerous slope instabilities, lead design optimizations, and developed controls and procedures for mining above and below large moving pit walls. I have authored numerous technical papers, partaken in industry panel discussions, was a keynote speaker for Slope Stability in Mining Conference 2023, and present webinars and teaching courses My areas of expertise include: • Pit slope and waste dump design, implementation and monitoring • Slope instability management • Wall control blasting and review • Economic optimization for geotechnically challenging projects • Geotechnical risk management • Third party technical review • Geotechnical Incident Investigation • Geohazard Mitigation • Hydrogeology and surface water management
