WORK HISTORY
Roots of Progress Fellow @Roots Of Progress Institute
From the Roots of Progress Institute: The progress of the last few centuries—in science, technology, industry, and the economy—is one of the greatest achievements of humanity. But to keep this upward trend going, we must believe that continued progress is both possible and desirable. The 19th century believed in the power of technology and industry to better humanity, but in the 20th century, this belief gave way to skepticism and distrust. It’s time for a new generation of intellectuals to help the world understand and appreciate progress. The Roots of Progress Fellowship exists to empower intellectual entrepreneurs for progress.

ABOUT GRANT MULLIGAN
I began my career as a wildlife biologist breeding and releasing endangered species back to the wild, but I quickly learned that I didn’t want to keep a few species from teetering into extinction. I wanted to keep them from approaching that point in the first place. Since then, I’ve spent my career implementing and investing in strategies that allow both humans and nature to thrive together, driven by a belief that technological, economic, and human progress are crucial ingredients of environmental protection. As a Roots of Progress fellow, you can find my writing about positive-sum environmentalism on Substack. https://grantmulligan.substack.com/
