WORK HISTORY

Aug 2018 — Present

President and Founder @The Assist

As Founder and President of The Assist, I’ve led our transformation from a grassroots survivor-led initiative into a globally recognized nonprofit at the forefront of athlete safety and child safeguarding. I’ve combined mission-driven leadership with strategic marketing, advocacy, and partnership development—ensuring our message reaches the people and institutions who need it most.Under my leadership, we\'ve supported systemic change in sport through education, storytelling, and survivor-centered campaigns—while scaling operations, building a collaborative team, and securing sustainable funding. Built and scaled the organization’s brand identity, digital strategy, and communications from scratch, increasing national visibility and long-term trust with survivors, lawmakers, and sports stakeholders.Grew the team from a volunteer effort into a fully staffed nonprofit with full- and part-time team members, contractors, and a high-impact, values-driven culture.Directed marketing and awareness campaigns that supported the passage of 6 state laws and the federal Empowering Olympic, Paralympic, and Amateur Athletes Act of 2020.Partnered with organizations including the IOC, FIFA, NWSL Players Association, USOPC, and the U.S. Center for SafeSport to provide technical assistance and safeguarding support.Secured and managed a federal OVW grant—becoming the only U.S. nonprofit to offer technical assistance on the intersection of sexual violence and sport.Increased funding by 75% YoY (2023–2024) through effective grant writing, fundraising, and donor stewardship.Represented survivors on national and global stages, including testimony before U.S. Congress (twice in 2023), the UN General Assembly, and at the White House for the Violence Against Women Act anniversary event.
