I am a founder member within the Partnership Services IT Procurement Team, following a restructure within IT, and lead John Lewis Partnership (JLP-wide) Procurement activities for many multi-million pound contracts with leading IT vendors. These are mostly Infrastructure based contracts (software, hardware & telecoms), however I have also had exposure to Retail Branch services for both our Department Store and Supermarket businesses.

I have been in IT for 40 years, having previously trained in Electronics. During that time, I have had many roles with high profile companies/ organisations during which time I have demonstrated leadership, flexibility, commitment and an ability to deliver. I am happiest when building and organising something tangible that is really going to make a difference. During my career with John Lewis Partnership, I originally moved roles every 4 years, always at the request of Senior Management with a remit of making a difference in the area that I am moving to. I moved to a commercial focused role and then IT Procurement 2010.During my entire career, I have been involved with supplier negotiation and developing working relationships with key suppliers that extend the boundary of the immediate internal IT team, coupled with budgetary control.I have had team management responsibilities at various times and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity that this gives of building something together, getting everyone pulling in the same direction whilst harnessing and nurturing the talent that I find in everyone that works for me.I have experience of democracy roles within JLP at all levels, including the Partnership Council. Democracy is what makes JLP different, with elected representatives sharing the voice of Partners to our Senior Exec Leadership team, and influencing decisions.I am married with two children and have a love of the Theatre (that my children share with me).
