Currently Non Executive Director and Independent Regulatory Consultant. Established and led CORU, the regulator for health and social care professionals in Ireland until 30 May 2023 as the first CEO/Registrar. CORU protects the public, by setting the standards for education, competence, conduct and ethics for the regulated professions. It also manages complaints about registered professionals, in relation to public safety. The over regulated professionals are Social Workers, Radiographers and Radiation Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Dietitians, Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists/Physical Therapists, Medical Scientists and Podiatrists. The register for Social Care Workers opened on the 30 November 2023. Work is ongoing to regulate psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists The other professions to be regulated under our governing legislation are the Clinical Biochemists. and Orthoptists.For more details, please see
