ABOUT GILLIAN REIMER

Hey there! Pleased to virtually meet you. Here\'s a little about me: I\'m a Marketing and Creative Services Manager currently focused on developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy to align the marketing activities of our Arts/Heritage/Entertainment, Parks & Recreation, and Economic Development departments at the City of Medicine Hat. In this role I am also tasked with creating a corporate advertising and sponsorship strategy to reflect all available inventory assets across the various City departments and find efficient ways of selling and promoting the available opportunities to local businesses. In my time with the City I have also become a trained mental health facilitator, giving our staff tools to build resiliency and reduce stigma by delivering the Mental Health Commission\'s \'The Working Mind\' program to our organization. Before joining the City, I spent seven years as the Head of Marketing at the Medicine Hat Public Library. I had the time of my life developing innovative marketing campaigns and finding new strategies to reach diverse audiences - not to mention, I was surrounded by my first true love, books! Working to build the Library\'s marketing and communications presence from scratch, I was honoured to cultivate lasting relationships with community members and stakeholders while strategically positioning the library as an absolute gem. As a proud graduate of the Bachelor of Commerce program at the UofA, I am equipped with a comprehensive business education that has formed the bedrock of my expertise in marketing, communications, strategic planning, and project management. Now, let\'s talk about where I hang my hat (pun intended!). I\'m lucky enough to live in the community I was born and raised in: Medicine Hat, AB, nestled among those unmistakable cutbanks. My partner and our two dogs share in the adventure of exploring trails and and soaking up all that sunshine. Plus, I\'m an absolute bookworm and audiobook lover—I pull inspiration from my favourite authors for my own digital storytelling. When I\'m not in communications mode, you can find me embracing an active lifestyle by spinning, running, hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, camping, and exploring new destinations. I\'m all about connecting with fellow Hatters who are just as passionate as I am about engaging with our neighbours to make this the best community to live, work, and play.
