The function is to establish and maintain coordination mechanisms, develop and implement plans and procedures for the Logistics Cluster/Supply Chain for Northern Ethiopia, as well as manage and oversee the implementation of innovative supply chain operations. Maintaining a focus on emergency preparedness and supporting the response to emergency relief supplies. Experience in build, coordination and prioritisation of logistics needs, maintain productive and harmonious partnerships with counterparts among Government, United Nations Agencies, NGOs, Donors officials, local authorities, to coordinate efforts, and strengthen operational capacities. Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs. Recommend optimal transport modes, manage and coordinate fleet movements. Management overall Logistics Cluster with Government authorities, partners, and stakeholders in the Northern Ethiopia. Coordinate interagency meetings, providing solutions based on partners needs and gaps. Designing, planning, managing policy implementation and procedures for field logistics operations including emergency preparedness, access and security coordination. Participate in logistics capacity assessment missions to improve emergency response and facilitate access to operational logistics solutions based on a detailed cost-benefit analysis. Warehouse operations management, quality control, loss prevention, cost efficiency, spaces, monitor LC hubs countrywide. Meeting with local, regional, national and custom authorities, for a potential new humanitarians’ corridor. Ensure WFP\' compliance, policies, procedures are guaranteed. Conducting research and assessment of potential new facilities/hubs, LCA (Logistics Capacity Assessment). Knowledge and management of RITA, approval and supervision of all convoy/despatch operations throughout the country. National staff contracts management and recruitment. Planning, arranging and conducting supply chain trainings for partners and Government.
