As an IT Contractor for the Disaster Risk Management Unit (JRC.E.1) of the Space, Security and Migration Directorate, I provide technical and technological services to the European Flood Awareness System (EFAS) team. The main tasks are development of new software and maintenance of the existing ones by developing new features or correcting the ones that already exist.Specific roles & responsibilities in the project- Give technical and technological support to the unit’s researchers- Loading, quality assurance and analysis of meteorological and hydrological data and metadata- Producing meteorological datasets in NetCDF format- Maintain and further develop the existing open-source software LISVAP, an evaporation Pre-Processor for LISFLOOD.(Python)- Maintain and further develop the open-source software LISFLOOD, a spatially distributed water resources model (Python)- Design, development and maintain of a geographical database with PostGIS and Django
