ABOUT GERTRUDE ANNA PILS

More than 30 years leading international organizations, transnational and cross-functional teams has taught me a holistic approach and the capability to manage the whole value chain of a company. Being always open for new challenges I am meanwhile deeply rooted in the global banking, real estate, distressed asset, equity investment, insurance and financial industries. My career path as senior executive and director in the UniCredit and Bank Austria Group is marked by various regional responsibilities for Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe, North and South America as well as for Asia. This allowed me to develop a cosmopolitan mindset, to understand the importance of clear governance and the value of cultural diversity.Every time has its opportunities for value creation - and luckily I got the chance to manage expansion and growth as well as restructuring and turnaround. Important is the sensitivity for market trends. Perhaps this is the reason why my employers repeatedly entrusted me to initiate and manage innovation and change ahead of the mainstream. I am proud that I was able to pay back by turning visions into outstanding results. The 80:20 principle is not mine, I am striving for excellence - history tells us that this is the fundament for sustainable success. As graduated engineer in mathematics I build on analytical research, careful planning and discipline in execution. People say that I have emotional intelligence; maybe because entrepreneurial teamwork is my passion.
