ABOUT GEORGINA YOUNG

I’m a biodiversity specialist and ecologist with 10 years’ experience helping organisations understand, manage, and enhance their relationship with nature. I’m driven by a commitment to making biodiversity recovery achievable, measurable, and central to how we design, build, and do business.My experience spans consultancy and client-side roles, covering biodiversity strategy development, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), ecological design, and planning support. I’ve led the delivery of biodiversity programmes for major infrastructure, housing, and corporate projects, translating technical evidence into practical, nature-positive outcomes.Having worked both on the ground as a field ecologist and within a global corporate sustainability team, I bring a dual perspective: a deep understanding of ecological delivery and the strategic insight needed to embed biodiversity within wider business decisions and sustainability goals.As a people manager and wellbeing lead, I’m passionate about creating an environment where others can thrive - supporting team development, CPD, and knowledge-sharing across disciplines.I’m motivated by the belief that restoring nature isn’t just an environmental goal - it’s a leadership responsibility. My aim is to grow into a leader in biodiversity strategy, helping organisations move beyond compliance toward meaningful, lasting impact for nature and people.
