Manage the university\'s institutional budget • Assist with review and publishing of budget requests • Support development of operating budget recommendation • Support in tracking and reconciling institutional budget commitments • Support and contribute to BFP\'s ongoing strategic projects, including facilitation of management reporting processes and preparation of materials for project meetings or presentations • Serve on teams as a subject matter expert • Update, consolidate, and/or improve periodic budget presentations and publication materials • Contribute to reports and presentations on university budget and financial information, for both general audiences and decision support, including ad hoc reports • Maintain institutional memberships and central service payments • Conduct research of best practices among institutions of higher education for budget development, maintenance, and reporting processes, assessing feasibility of adoption • Update existing process manuals and internal BFP publications to reflect improved processes • Update materials associated with the Board of Trustees\' annual adoption of Western\'s state operating budget and tuition rates • Conduct budget transfers, review position requests, BFP website maintenance, and other budget maintenance duties as needed • Serve as backup for several key BFP roles • Assist ad hoc projects as requested • Assist with preparation and submission of fiscal notes and legislative information requests, including working with subject matter experts to identify fiscal impacts and cost estimates • Conduct analysis of proposed & adopted state operating budgets and identify potential impacts to WWU • Maintain the office\'s training materials related to fiscal notes, lead annual trainings with subject matter experts • Coordinate meetings with Washington public universities and OFM during legislative session to ensure alignment across sector in approach to fiscal notes and budget development.
